About Me

Hi, I’m Benton Dinsmore, a concept artist and illustrator with a passion for bringing worlds to life through storytelling and design. My artistic journey began with sketching characters from the roleplaying games I grew up playing and has since evolved into working with industry-leading companies like Paizo Publishing, creating characters, props, and environments that immerse players in imaginative adventures.

I’m drawn to both digital and traditional mediums, using tools like Adobe Photoshop, ZBrush, and Autodesk Maya to craft everything from intricate droids and sleek speeders to everyday objects that tell the story of a world and its people. While I love designing grand, epic scenes, I find a special connection in exploring the small, often overlooked props that give depth to a character’s daily life or a culture’s values.

Whether I’m designing for Pathfinder, contributing to Star Wars fan projects, or simply sketching in my notebook, my work is always rooted in a deep love for storytelling. Outside the studio, I enjoy diving into historical martial arts, rock climbing, and 3D printing, all of which fuel my imagination and creativity.

I owe so much of my creative journey to the incredible support of my wife and the endless inspiration from my kids, who remind me to keep dreaming up new worlds every day. Welcome to my portfolio, where you’ll find fragments of the worlds I’ve created—and the ones I’ve yet to discover.
